"Money Doesn't Make the Man"

by EJIRO @ Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 - 16:55:40

On my way to the office this morning, I saw two matured men fighting on the street. I couldn't help watching the scene while I was held up in traffic Jam. They fought with all their might. I watched as people gathered around them to separate them. One of the guys was badly injured; the other guy stabbed him with a knife. It was such a horrible sight. Blood was gushing out of the wounded man body. A Good Samaritan, who happened to be a doctor rushed to the scene with his car to help the wounded man. At this point I got out of the car to assist the doctor. I saw the other man who stabbed the other guy feeling sorry about the whole thing, he started crying and saying this in pidgin English {Na devil work, Na devil work) meaning it is the work of the devil. I now asked him what happened, you won't believe what he told me, he said the other guy borrowed money from him, since a year now, and he refused to pay back. I was just pissed with him, I walked out of him. Can you imagine? Because of money he almost murdered a human being..

Money! Money! Money. The world is going crazy because of the lost of money.

title="F5301">F5301iMONEY 2images MONEYF6165

People fail to realise that money is not everything. Money doesn't make the man, it doesen't make the man happy. There is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more a man has the more he wants. It is true that like Aphra Behn said " Money speak sence in a language all nation can understand, but never forget that:

1) Money can buy you bed, but it cannot buy you sleep.

2) Money can buy you Car, but it cannot be you safety and security,.

3) Money can buy you drugs and medicine, but cannot buy you good health

4) Money can buy you certificate but cannot buy you brain

5)Money can buy the action of men, but not their trust and loyalty.

6)Money can buy luxurious estate, but not peace of mind.

Finally, it can buy you all the banks in your nation but not a long life! OH MONEY! OH MONEY!

BE WARNED!!!!

" TOO YOUNG FOR TV NEWS"

by EJIRO @ Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 - 12:29:15

tv
I had a visitor yesterday evening, guess who? my neighbor’s daughter. Her name is Shannon and she is 4 years old. She normally comes to visit when I am home. I am very fond of her and she is fond of me. After giving her, her favorite noodles, she settled in the sitting room to watch TV while I did the dishes. Later on, I heard her screaming from the sitting room. I ran straight to her. I asked her what the problem was; she said, they showed something scary on the news. Then it occurred to me that I forgot to change the TV from CNN Station. I did that immediately and changed it to Cartoon network. Later on a dialogue occurred between me and her, see below;

Shannon: Aunty Ejiro I saw a man strangling
someone to death on TV, he killed
the other man and he faced me with
the gun that was why I screamed. Will
he come to strangle me too? I am Scared.

Me: No love, he won't. He doesn't strangle
children, and besides he is very far away,
you don't need to be scared.

Shannon: Ok, "Aunty Ejiro, I am not scared anymore

After this incident I decided to write this piece.

Every day, TV news exposes our children to murders, kidnappings, and bombings. How can we calm their fears and help them feel safe?

The specific age at which a child is capable of understanding and dealing with what she see on the news depends on the maturity of the individual child, psychologist says most youngsters under 9 can't comprehend the complexity of violence of TV news. At nine, a child can reliably distinguish between reality and fantasy.

It is unavoidable that your children will see the TV news while you are watching it, experts say you should be prepared top offer a running commentary. In addition, you may want to consider skipping local coverage when your child is around. " Local new literally puts violence in your child's backyard. Local stations also are likely to televise the most frightening images over and over again. I remember vividly, a story I read some time ago. It 's about a child called Polly Kiaas in California who was kidnapped from her bedroom, stations in the region repeatedly showed scenes of the dead child's body, often splitting the screen with a home video of the girl laughing and dancing. " It was particularly fearsome scenario for a child" If you 're not safe at home with your mother in the next room in your own house, where are you safe?

So, Parents, Aunties, Uncles out there, whenever the kids are around, please mind what they watch on TV. 80% of the programs shown on TV, affects them negatively. Surprisingly, "Some Cartoons are not advisable for kids to watch."

" Why do you blog"?

by EJIRO @ Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 - 16:31:26

As a blogger, you come across different blogs everyday, some make you cry, some make you laugh, some make you smile, some put a grin on your face, some also are boring, some are educative and some are scary:>> yes scary.

Daily, I search the web to read different blog, and I keep asking myself, do all these bloggers blog because they love to share their thoughts? or because the blog to make money? well, as for me, I blog because I love to impact love to people, make new friends, spread the gospel of Christ, give advice when necessary, motivate people, give hope to the hopeless, put a smile on someone face and also tell stories that people will learn from e.t.c, e.t.c. Although, making money with my blog will be nice, but then, the most important thing is to spread love and friendship to others. That is the major reason why I blog.

So dear Bloggers, tell me, why do you blog?

"They Raped Her 19 Times She forgave Them"

by EJIRO @ Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 - 16:42:49

Recently,I read this BBC Story:

A Congo Woman who was taken captive by millitants along with 50 of her family members. Forty were shot dead in her presence. Her brother private part was cut and he was killed for refusing to sleep with her. She was forced to strrangulate her child and was later raped by 19 men. She was stripped naked from the day she was captured to the day she escaped to tell her story.

You Know, dear readers, the most amazing thing about this story is that; This woman is not a sister of Mother Theresa or a niece of Opray Winfrey nor does her maiden name bears Mandala! She is not a pastor, she is an ordinary local village woman who can't even speak English. When interviewed on her hospital bed on what she thinks should be done to the militants if they are caught? I know most people if they were in her shoes will say " Kill the militants" but this old woman you won't believe what she said; She said," As a christain who believes in the Bible, she has forgiven and relased them in her heart! I know you reading this will be saying,' Unbelivable! forgive those who forced you to kill your child? Who raped you 19 times? Forgive those who forced you to kill your child?Forgive those who kill your blood brother in an horrible manner? O 'h Yes! Yes! she did. Oh I remebered that Mandala as president actually forgave those who unjustily jailed him for 27 years!

So dear readers, note that if you must make it in life, forgive those who have hurt you terribly in the past. I know that no matter how careful you may be, you must come across people who will hurt you, those you trust will betray you, Those you help will repay you with evil,Men must lie against you.

Remember, when all this things happen, just forgive them and move on with life,Jesus Christ Forgave those who Killed him. So do likewise. Refuse to be bitter! St Francis said "It is in Pardoning that we are pardoned.

Peace

" DEPRESSION HURTS"

by EJIRO @ Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 - 17:14:44

I met a lady recently who is so depressed about her marital life, she is even thinking of commiting sucide. Her husband treats her like shit, because she doesn't have a child for him. As if that is not enough, she found out from a reliable source that a lady got pregnant for her husband and her husband is planning to divorCe her and marry the other lady. Ooooo what a sad Story!!:( she is so depressed and as I am writing this, she has lost her mind, and she is almost Mad because of depression.

0017-0308-1701-4014_SM

Depression is a mind killer, Depression isn't just feeling down. It is a real illness with real causes. Depression can be triggered by stressful life event, like divorce or a death in the family.Or it can appear suddenly for no apparent reason.

Funny enough, some people think you can just will yourself out of a depression. That's not true. When you are clinically depressed, one thing that can happen is the level of scrotonin ( a chemical in your body) may drop. So you may have trouble sleeping. Feel unusually sad or irritanle. You find it hard to concentrate . Loss your appetite. Lack of energy. Or having trouble feeling pleaseure. These are some of the symptoms that can point to depressure-especially if they last for more than a couple of weeks and if normal, everyday life feels like too much to handle.

I was reading an article recently and I stumbled upon a drug which can help to cure depression. This drug is called Prozac. It helps bring serotonin levels closer to normal. Well, if you are always getting depressed, who knows, Prozac may help, just find out from your doctor.

In conclusion always try to make yourself happy at all time. No matter the suitation your are in, "DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY":DD.

Today, all over the world all bloggers together in unity will be writing about issues concerning our environment.

Find below my own contribution:

Happy reading1!!

Like the saying goes, " Health is Wealth" It is good to be healthy, even if you are poor, when you are healthy you can do things that will make you rich. Even the bible said it, that God's wish is for us to be healthy at all time. He said in his word, "I wish above all things that you may be in good health just as your soul prospers. So you see, God wish for us as his children to be healthy, so we have to stay healthy by fighting germs, how do we fight germs and bacterial?, we have to keep our environment clean at all times. Disease and all manner of sickness is mostly cost by the spread of bacteria and germs.

Here below are some tips to stay healthy by keeping our environment clean:

1)How clean (and green) is your residential block? Read on...

To maintain the healthy environment which people are seeking in choosing a rural lifestyle, it is important that sewage and household wastes are properly managed, waterways are protected, roads and other disturbed areas are well constructed and maintained, and the diversity of habitat provided by any natural areas is protected.

2)Sewage waste

Sewage, if not properly treated and managed, will cause nutrient and bacterial pollution of creeks, dams and groundwater. This presents human health threats (from swimming, drinking, or other water contact) and damages aquatic habitats. For example, nutrient pollution can contribute to algal blooms, oxygen depletion of water and fish kills.

HOW TO TREAT SEWAGE WASTE

Choose the right treatment system. The best system for your block will depend on soil type, slope, climate and closeness to creeks, rivers and groundwater systems. Common systems include septic tanks with absorption or transpiration beds, two-stage aerobic treatment plants with irrigation or absorption/transpiration of effluent, and composting toilets.

Maintain your treatment system. All treatment systems require regular maintenance to operate efficiently.
Don't overload your treatment system. If operated beyond capacity, a treatment system won't treat sewage to an adequate standard.

Manage your disposal areas sustainably. Transpiration beds and irrigation areas must be of an adequate size and soil quality to prevent saturation and run-off at all times of the year. Nutrients should be harvested from areas by regular mowing or other means.

3)Habitats
Rural residential developments are often sited in, or contain, areas of high natural value (native vegetation, creeks and rivers and wetland areas). However, the development of these sites often threatens the very values that attract people to them.

Plan the development and use of your site to minimise disturbance of native vegetation, fauna habitat, permanent and non-permanent waterways (including wetlands), and other areas of natural value.
Be aware of the harm that uncontrolled domestic animals (cats and dogs) will cause to native flora and fauna.

Dear readers, the above ideas provide the means by which you can protect the environment of the area in which you live. For more detailed information about any of the issues in this brochure, professional advice can be sought from relevant state government departments or your local council.

I wish all bloggers the best in their blogging career as they participate in BLOG ACTION DAY

Peace n Love to you all:wave:

:D Big question of the day?, Yes, tell me, who are you behind close doors or when no one is watching?. I mean the real you, what is that bad habit you do when no one is watching? do you throw dirt on main roads even if there is a waste basket close by? Do you sweep all the dirt in your room under your bed? When you go shopping do you shoplift? Do you masturbate? are you among those who keep phonographic magazines and films where no one could see them so you could watch them when everyone has gone to bed?. There are so many bad habits, so numerous to mention. You know yourself more than anyone, but the truth is, no one is an exemption, but we shouldn’t' allow them to control us, we should try to stop them if we can. Whatever bad habits we practice, we should try and get over it otherwise, they might caught up with us someday.

Find below a story I read recently on net, how a man bad habit caught up with him and cost him $2000. Watch out, you might be next in line.

Jobless Man fined $2,000 for lifting woman’s skirt

An Unemployed man who lifted a woman’s skirt was fined $2,000

Tan Kim Poo, 42 admitted committing the offence along Bedok Town Park on Nov 25 last year.

The 34 year old woman was walking in the Bedok Town Park at about 8.40pm that day when she saw a shadow coming from behind. Suddenly, Tan lifted her skirt from behind and bent down to peep under it.

She shouted” molest” and he fled. A woman passer – by heard the commotion and managed to detain Tan after a chase.

Tan was later fined for the crime.

Can you imagine? Tan’s dirty habits has found him out. So you out there, be careful and try as much as you can to stay away from dirty habits that would cause you disgrace.

Cheers.

I had a very tiring weekend. On Friday after I left the office, I went to school. I had a lecture for about two hours before proceeding home. I still had to cook dinner for my husband. I finally went to sleep at about 10pm or so. I woke up on Saturday morning, I had to do my house chores and also prepare breakfast. I was at home till about 1oam I went for my lectures in school. After school, I had to take time out to make my hair and prepare for the new week. I got home late in the afternoon, I had my siesta, and till at about 5pm. My husband hired a French tutor to come take us French lessons during the weekends, so he came and we had our first class, very exciting though, I learnt new words, like Bonjour, glaxon, femme e,t.c. On Sunday I went to church, I had to attend my group meetings after church and later went home and I rested the whole evening. That was how I spent my weekend

I can't believe today is Monday again, before you know it, another weekend come crawling again.

Back to the day business. I read about a story recently and I decided to post it for all my friends to read.

Enjoy!

The story is titled " The hidden Diamonds"
DIAMOND73091856pr80691
His name was Derrick, he was very poor, on his death, he gave his son an 100 Acres piece of land, before giving the documents to his son, he made him promised that he won't sell the piece of land to anyone, he told his son that he inherited it from his own father and now he is passing it to his son Jude.

Jude collected the documents of the land with tears in his eyes as he watched the cold hands of death taking his father away from him.

Jude kept his promise to his father by not selling the piece of land. He didn't bother to do anything with the land, because he saw it as an inherited property and besides he just couldn't bring himself to doing such hard labor, instead, he left the village and went to the city searching for greener pastures.

He couldn't get a good job because of his level of education, so he was doing meager jobs to keep body and soul. One day he decided to sell the piece of land his father gave to him and he place it on bid, because he was desperate to sell, he wasn't patient to get a good buyer; he sold it at a very cheap price.

The new owner of the land called Jeremy was happy to buy the land, one day as he was tilling the land, he dug out a shining object, he couldn't make out what it is, so he took it to his house and used it as a decorating item in his sitting room. One faithful day, Jeremy had a visitor who deals on jewelleries, as he sat down in the sitting room he saw the shinning object on the shelve, He shouted, Diamond! Diamond! he asked Jeremy where he got it from, Jeremy refused to disclose it to him.

The next day, Jeremy went back to the land, and he started digging , he dug out diamonds of different shapes and sizes, there was so much, he decided to open a factory where he will store them and sell to the public, he became very wealthy. You know what? Jude who sold the land to him heard about Jeremy wealth, he came to the village and he was employed by Jeremy as a factory cleaning man. Can you imagine that? after some time, Jude now knew that the source of Jeremy wealth was from the land he bought from him, he couldn't stop regretting, he wished he had listen to his father, but it was damn too lateeeeeeee, as the saying goes; if wishes were Horses, beggars would ride on them.

Welcome back!

What a story, the Irony of this story is that anywhere you are there are opportunities there, just look around you, think of what to do, use what you have to get what you want, that problem you have, there could be a solution close to you, just do a little more thinking, studying and I bet you, you will get the solution. Don't end up like Jude, end up like Jeremy.

Happy day!!!

"married men do less housework than live-in boyfriends"

by EJIRO @ Thursday, Oct. 04, 2007 - 14:12:56

boyfriendclean

Sorry for my long absence, due to circumstances beyond my control. I have been very busy this week, trying to put my office in order. Is not easy at all, I have to keep my files in place, prepare Invoices and follow up jobs and all that.Well, enough of office stuff Let's move on to today write up.

Today I will be writing on the topic, Tagged:

"Married men do less housework than live-in boyfriends"

Is it true? that Married men do less housework than live in boyfriends? after reading this article of mine, please do me a favour by posting your comment.

“Marriage as an institution seems to have a traditionalizing effect on couples—even couples who see men and women as equal,” said co-researcher Shannon Davis, a sociologist at George Mason University in Virginia.

Understanding the dynamics of couples who live together but are not married has become more important as cohabitation around the globe increases. More than 5 million unmarried partner households (more than 10 million individuals) currently exist in the United States, according to a 2006 report by the U.S. Census Bureau.
"I do," just not housework

The scientists analyzed surveys gathered in 2002 from 28 nations, from 17,636 respondents (8,119 males and 9,517 females) as part of the Family and Changing Gender Roles III Survey. All respondents were either married or cohabiting with a significant other.
Overall, they found men spent about 9 hours a week on housework compared with women, who spent more than 20 hours weekly.

"There's still a gender norm, since women do more housework than men regardless of union type," said study team member Jennifer Gerteisen Marks, who is working on a doctorate degree at North Carolina State University.

Regardless of the couples' relative earnings or work hours, cohabiting males reported more household hours than did their married counterparts, while the opposite was true for women, with wives picking up the broom less often than live-in girlfriends.
Equal partners

Other factors also came into play. Men who raked in more earnings than their partners did fewer hours of housework than men with lower relative incomes. "Those in the household with greater resources will leverage those resources to bargain their way out of housework," the authors write in the September issue of the Journal of Family Issues.

Couples who viewed men and women as equals were more likely to divvy up chores equally. But even in "egalitarian households," married men still contributed less to household chores than did their wives.

"It's consistent with prior research, which has shown that the roles of wives and husbands are very powerful," . "In a cohabiting relationship there aren't such strongly prescribed social norms, which trickle down to things like housework.

So ladies out there, I need your opinion, do you have a husband or boyfriend that help out in doing the house chores, what is your opinion about it, is it good for a husband or boyfriend to assist his woman in doing house work? boyfriends and husband who assist more in doing house work? Iam throwing out this questions for you to answer.

Peace.
