"Take my Son"

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art." The young man held out this package. "I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this."

The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. "Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift."

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. "We will start the bidding with this picture of the son.. Who will bid for this picture?"

There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, "We want to see the famous paintings.. Skip this one."

But the auctioneer persisted. "Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?"

Another voice angrily. "We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Goghs, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!"

But still the auctioneer continued. "The son! The son! Who'll take the son?"

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. "I'll give $10 for the painting." Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

"We have $10, who will bid $20?"

"Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters."

"$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?"

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. "Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!"

A man sitting on the second row shouted, "Now let's get on with the collection!"

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. "I'm sorry, the auction is over."

"What about the paintings?"

"I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!"

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: "The son, the son, who'll take the son?"

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA

by EJIRO @ Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007 - 11:49:56

Hi all, just saw this information on yahoo news today, incase you havent seen it, it's for your view. Also for people living in that section of the world to be aware of it.

Happy Viewing!1!

T082707_lunar_eclipsehe Earth's shadow will creep across the moon's surface early Tuesday, slowly eclipsing it and turning it to shades of orange and red.

The total lunar eclipse, the second this year, will be visible in North and South America, especially in the West. People in the Pacific islands, eastern Asia, Australia and New Zealand also will be able to view it if skies are clear.

People in Europe, Africa or the Middle East, who had the best view of the last total lunar eclipse in March, won't see this one because the moon will have set when the partial eclipse begins at 4:51 a.m. EDT. The full eclipse will begin an hour later at 5:52 a.m. EDT.

An eclipse occurs when Earth passes between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light. It's rare because the moon is usually either above or below the plane of Earth's orbit.

Since the Earth is bigger than the moon, the process of the Earth's shadow taking a bigger and bigger "bite" out of the moon, totally eclipsing it before the shadow recedes, lasts about 3 1/2 hours, said Doug Duncan, director of the University of Colorado's Fiske Planetarium. The total eclipse phase, in which the moon has an orange or reddish glow, lasts about 1 1/2 hours.

The full eclipse will be visible across the United States, but East Coast viewers will only have about a half-hour to see it before the sun begins to rise and the moon sets. Skywatchers in the West will get the full show.

In eastern Asia, the moon will rise in various stages of eclipse.

During the full eclipse, the moon won't be completely dark because some light still reaches it around the edges of the Earth. The light is refracted as it passes through our atmosphere, scattering blue light — which is why the sky is blue — but sending reddish light onto the moon.

"When someone asks why is it (the moon) red, you can say because the sky is blue," Duncan said.

The next total lunar eclipse occurs Feb. 21, 2008, and will be visible from the Americas, Europe and Asia.

" MAKE GOOD USE OF YOUR POTENTIALS'

by EJIRO @ Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007 - 13:41:19

I woke up very early this morning with determination to make good use of the day. I got to the office early and I am almost through with most of my duties in the office, am just settling down responding to emails from clients all over the world. I have a very exciting and challenging Job that I am proud of, too bad, most people do not love their job, some are just interested in the pay, I count myself lucky, I have a good job, the pay is good, the job is exciting and brain tasking. If you have a job that you don't enjoy doing, I will advice you to quit, because you can only give your best if you are doing what you really love to do. Well, that is by the way side, I just mention it thoughhhhhhhhhh, you don't really have to quit your job because I say so, if it pays your bills, ok, but still keep looking for a better option.

Today, I will be writing about Whoopi Goldberg. In case you haven't heard of her, she Hollywood's leading actress, she is someone I admire her a lot.

Here Below is her Biography;
220px-Whoopi_Comic_Relief_cropped
Whoopi Goldberg Date of birth: November 13, 1950

Whoopi Goldberg was born Caryn Johnson in New York City and spent the first years of her life in a public housing project in Manhattan. She made her performing debut at age eight with the Helena Rubinstein Children's Theatre at the Hudson Guild. After dropping out of high school, she found work as a summer camp counselor, and in the choruses of the Broadway shows Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar and Pippin.

180px-Whoopi_Goldberg_stand_up_for_Rainforest_Action_Network
In 1974, after a failed marriage, she moved to California with her young daughter and, the following year, helped found the San Diego Repertory Theatre and joined the improvisational theater group Spontaneous Combustion. It was at this time that she adopted her distinctive stage name and began to develop the character monologues that were to make her famous. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, she joined another improvisational group, the Blake Street Hawkeyes, acquired a following for her work as a stand-up comedian, and toured the U.S. and Europe with her one-woman production, The Spook Show.

In 1983 the legendary director Mike Nichols saw her perform and, the following year, presented her on Broadway in a one-woman show of her own creation. The show was an enormous success, and brought her to the attention of Steven Spielberg, who cast her in the leading role in his film of Alice Walker's The Color Purple. Making her film debut in this coveted role instantly established her as one of Hollywood's leading actresses. Her performance in Ghost won her an Academy Award. She followed this with memorable performances in the box-office smash Sister Act and the critically acclaimed Robert Altman film, The Player. Her other film credits include Made In America; Corinna, Corinna; Star Trek: Generations and Boys on the Side. In addition to her acting roles, Whoopi Goldberg has hosted her own television talk show and has earned rave reviews for hosting the annual Academy Awards telecast.

WELCOME BACK!!!

From her story, she had two major challenges that would have pull her down. One, she dropprd out of high school and then secondly, she had a failed marriage and a child to show for it. You know what? the most amazing thing is, with all this set back, she still moved ahead. In life, there are bound to be one challenges or the other, the ability for you to pull out of this challenges will take you to that place you have always desire to be in life. Your zeal towards life determines if you will make it or if you will fail. So dear readers, get challenge, this write up of mine is to stir you into action, in anything you are doing for a living, try and develop interest and get the best out of it. You have hidden potentials on the inside of you, you have to bring them out. Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, and many others too numerous to mention started from no where, they find out the potentials they have on the inside of them and decided to make good use of it. So, what are you waiting for, don't die with your potentials on the inside of you, make good use of them, even when you are dead, you will be remembered from generation to generation. cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeers.

"MARRIAGE IS NOT A BED OF ROSES"

by EJIRO @ Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 - 14:45:31

Hi all, I am back, missed blogging a lot, I am just trying to catch all I have missed.

I am through with my exams, and I am almost rounding up preparation for my wedding next month, ooohhhm so much to dooooooooooooo, I know I will definitely scale through.
morozov-dsc03034_1280
Life indeed is not a bed of roses, and so is Marriage. I and my spouse went for a marriage counseling class recently, and I listened attentively to what the counselor was saying.
080607_yao_ming_marries
He disclosed the sweet and bitter part of marriage. He said marriage indeed is one of the most beautiful thing God has created and the devil knows it and he fights marriages with all his might. You know marriage involve two people coming together in agreement to become one, so in everything they are united and as a result of that, it yields positive results. He went on and on, talking about what to expect in marital life, he talked about the issue of Finance in marriage, that really got my attention, he said couples should have joint account and be open to each other at all times. Before now, I have seen cases where husband and wife who shared the same account run into problems, especially when there is a divorce or separation as the case may be. But, personally, I feel it is a good idea, but honesty between both partners is compulsory in this case. What about you? What’s you own comment on this issue?

Secondly, he gave a story about two couples he counseled some years ago, he talked about how their marriage hit the rock even before it started.
“Here is the story”

Richard and Lara met and courted for 8years before they finally decided to get married. Their marriage was the talk of the town, they had a Cinderella kind of wedding. Lara is very wealthy; she met and fell in love with Richard, her Laundry man. She got him fixed up by opening a big laundry business for him and before you knew it, he was making lot of bucks. Lara was so anxious to get married because she felt age wasn't on her side, she was so much in a hurry that she didn't care to find out if Richard really loved her as he claim to do. Meanwhile, Richard got married to Lara, not because he loved her, but because he knew that her money and her influence in the society will keep his bank account watery with cash at all time. As soon as they got married, they find out that their expectation was not forth coming, they got bored with each other company and they ran out of luck because both of their businesses collapse, they ran into debts, no more night outs and no more candle light dinner. Richard turned to alcohol and comes back home late, Lara became lonely and miserable than ever, they had no choice than to pack up their marriage. Toooooooooo bad.

After hearing this story, I said to myself, " The Only thing that could had saved that marriage is Love" If both couple loved themselves they should have scaled through the difficulties they had by removing the "Bed of Thorns" from their marriage and changing it to a "Bed of Roses". Yes! I believe one can make his or her marriage a bed full of roses, all he or she needs is "LOVE"

From all indication, from the story above, Lara and Richard got married for all the wrong reason. The major reason most marriages this days end up drastically, is because People marry for all the wrong reasons, not necessarily because of LOVE.

In conclusion, are you out there preparing to get married, here is a word of advice for you, please make sure you are getting married because you love your spouse to be. Not for any other reason, I repeat "NOT FOR ANY OTHER REASON".

Also if you are already married, and you have tried all you can to make your marriage work, maybe you are at the edge of choosing divorce as the next option, don't give up still try as much as you can to save your marriage, "JUST A LITTLE LOVE WILL DO THE MAGIC"

"THE UNEMPLOYED GRADUATE"

by EJIRO @ Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 - 12:38:20

Hi all,

I missed writing my post, well, well, I have a lot on my plate lately, I haven't had time to do my regular postings, but I will be back fully by next week, a very big thanks to all my viewers and constant visitors to my blog, I really appreciate.

Enjoy this piece!!

Luv ya all.

An unemployed graduate woke up one morning and checked his pocket. All he had left was $10. He decided to use it to buy food and then wait for death as he was too proud to go begging. He was frustrated as he could find no job, and nobody was ready to help him.

He bought food and as he sat down to eat, an old man and two little children came along and asked him to help them with food as they had not eaten for almost a week. He looked at them. They were so lean that he could see their bones coming out. Their eyes had gone into the socket.

With the last bit of compassion he had, he gave them the food. The old man and children prayed that God would bless and prosper him and then gave him a very old coin.

The young graduate said to them "you need the prayer more than I do".

With no money, no job, no food, the young graduate went under the bridge to rest and wait for death.
As he was about to sleep, he saw an old newspaper on the ground. He picked it up, and suddenly he saw an ad vertisement for people with old coins to come to a certain address.

He decided to go there with the old coin the old man gave him. On getting to the place, he gave the proprietor the coin. The proprietor screamed, brought out a big book and showed the young graduate a photograph. This same old coin was worth 3 million dollars. The young graduate was overjoyed as the proprietor gave him a bank draft for 3 million dollars within an
hour. He collected the Bank Draft and went in search of the old man and little children.

By the time he got to where he left them eating, they had gone. He asked the owner of the canteen if he knew them. He said no but they left a note for you. He quickly opened the note thinking it would lead him to find them.

This is what the note said: "You gave us your all and we have rewarded you back with the coin" Signed God the Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. 1Kings 17:10 -16; Matthew 11:28 -30

Have you given all to Jesus Christ? If you haven't, do so today and he will surprise you.

" MOTHERS ARE UNIQUE"

by EJIRO @ Thursday, Aug. 02, 2007 - 17:18:51

I had a very tiring weekend, because I was busy preparing for my exams. Is not easy working and the same time schooling, I am running a part time course on Business Managment and the same time working as a Secretary in a firm.

Very soon, in a couple of months, I will be playing the role of a wife. mother, student and worker, I tag it as " Four in one" uhmmmmm, being a woman, is not an easy task. Men should learn to respect women because we are their life, without a woman, the life of a man is incomplete. So Men, always appreciate your wives, Mothers, Sisters. Imagine carrying a child for nine months in your womb, and also going through the pains of delivery the child, and not just that staying at home to wean the child. Indeed, as we say here in africa" Mother Is supreme".

Mothers are unique being, to guys out there respect you mother and wives because they make the world go round. To the ladies out there thank God for making you a great woman. BE PROUD ALWAYS.

Dear readers, Like I said earlier, Iam concentrating on my exams, so for now my postings won't be regular as it were before, but I promise to give you my best when Iam through with my exams.

"BE GOOD"
